The happymessenger art bus will bring  a wide variety of mobile art experiences to the community.  These experiences will be offered mostly in partnership with local art groups, councils, school districts, after-school programs, health organizations, corporations  and more.  Artistic expression programs such as this have been found to foster a sense of empowerment, belonging and achievement.

Durham Parks and Recreation Latino Festival 9/29/2012

We had a great time, even though it rained and we had to move inside.  We made sugar skull masks and everyone had a great time at the Durham Parks and Recreation Latino Festival! See what they said about us and the festival in the Durham Herald Sun Newspaper this weekend. Click here.

"Holly and her staff were amazing at the City of Durham Latino Festival. They were very engaging with the kids and provided great services. We look forward to working with them in the future"

Happymessenger Art Experience #3
UNC Hospital Brushes with Life Group 9/23/2012

Picture
We had a great time needlefelting with the UNC Brushes with Life group today.  They made wonderful creations that ranged from a water bottle holder to headbands to bracelets.  Thanks  for letting us help with your art project.

"The felting class provided to Brushes with Life clients by "happymess" was incredible. The instructor was warm, encouraging, and very clear in her explanation of the technique. All participants enjoyed the program, and many (if not all!) left inspired to go out and buy their own felting materials, so they could continue learning the craft on their own! We would definitely encourage others to try this program!"

We had a great time helping the members of Threshold Clubhouse make bubble painting greeting cards to sell at the alternative gift fairs that they are participating in.  They turned out beautifully
